 Luke 2:1-7 

 I. There was no room for Jesus in the past. 

      A. Herod had no room for Jesus. 

      B. Nazareth had no room for Jesus. 


 II. There is no room for Jesus in the present. 

      A. Is there any room for Jesus in Schools? 

      B. Is there any room for Jesus in Society? 

      C. Is there any room for Jesus in our Homes? 

      D. Is there any room for Jesus in Christianity? 


 III. Will there be room for Jesus in the future?

Christmas Caroling and Cookie Exchange ~ 12/23/12

On Sunday, December 23rd, our evening service will be held an hour early at 5:00pm.

After services at approximately 6:00pm we'll be having our annual night of Christmas caroling followed with hot chocolate and snacks.  Bundle up and bring a flashlight!

We'll also be having our cookie exchange that evening.  If you signed up to participate, please bring 6 dozen cookies.  That means you'll be taking home 6 dozen cookies!

Everyone is invited to come participate.  Bring a friend for some great Christmas cheer and fun!

The Rich are Warned

James 5:1-6

I.  The worthlessness of riches.

     A.  Wealth is not a sin.  I Timothy 6:9-10
           1.  The love of money is a sin.
           2.  More blessings bring more responsibility.
           3.  We should work to share.  Eph 4:28

     B.  Three types of riches and their form of decay:

           1.  Corn or grain - ROT
           2.  Garments - MOTH-EATEN
           3.  Gold & Silver - RUST

      These things mean nothing to the Lord -
                      Matthew 6:19-21


II.  The Peril of the Selfish Rich.

     A.  Their wealth was gained by "injustice."  Jeremiah 22:13

     B.  Their wealth was used "selfishly."  Romans 8:5-6, Proverbs 23:4

"Is Jesus In The House?"

Key Verse:  Mark 2:1-12

I.  Jesus must be the main attraction in our lives and homes.  Mark 2:1


     A.  Jesus came to:
         1.  Preach -  Luke 4:43
         2.  Seek and Save the Lost - Luke 19:10
         3.  Suffer, Be Rejected and Raise - Luke 9:22

     B.  We must follow Him - Luke 9:23:
        1.  Desire to follow Christ.
        2.  Deny ourselves.
        3.  Take up his cross (work on areas needed)
        4.  Follow if willing.

*Christ won't be in Christmas until He is in our lives!*


II. We must put others first.  Mark 2:3-4


     A.  A friend will get you to the feet of Jesus.

        Romans 12:10 - Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;


III.  Realize God is with you and God alone can forgive sins.  Mark 2:6-8


     A.  Isaiah 43:25 - “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake,
And I will not remember your sins.

        1.  Do we realize God is in the Bible?
        2.  We can know Him if we open the pages.


IV.  There will be spiritual blessings.  Mark 2: 5, 10-12 

     A.  Spiritual House (Heart) - 1 Peter 2:5
     B.  Is Christ in your house?
     C.  Can people say, "We have never seen anything like this?" about you?
